URCHFONT SCARECROW FESTIVAL
2 – 4 MAY 2026
Wiltshire's first, biggest, and most strawsome scarecrow festival.
The 2025 Urchfont Scarecrow Festival was a family-friendly day out filled with fun, creativity, and community spirit which ran from Saturday the 3rd to Monday the 5th of May.
Visitors purchased a programme by the pond and embarked on the scarecrow trail, cracking the clues and matching them to the 54 themed scarecrows lovingly crafted by local residents. Kids joined in the fun with a special quiz featuring picture clues at each stop. Prizes await the sharpest sleuths.
Dogs with responsible owners were also invited for an enjoyable walk around the picturesque, thatched cottage-lined village of Urchfont.
SAVE THE DATE: 2 – 4 MAY 2026
A great day out for all the family
The Urchfont Scarecrow Festival has been running since the 1990s and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Here are some of the reasons why:
THERE'S LOTS TO DO AND SEE
Embark on the scarecrow trail through the charming Urchfont village as you unravel clues. Your little ones can join in the fun with a children's quiz featuring picture clues to decode at each scarecrow spot.
A FUN, LIVELY ATMOSPHERE
Enjoy mouthwatering, locally crafted burgers and sausages, indulge in delectable homemade cakes and a refreshing cup of tea; or satisfy your thirst with locally brewed real ales and ciders at the village pond.
IT'S COMMUNITY RUN
The Festival committee and the Urchfont Parish community work together to create scarecrows, bake cakes, oversee parking, cook on the barbecue, serve drinks, and more.
IT SUPPORTS LOCAL CAUSES.
Profits are dedicated to supporting good causes in the Parish, and a substantial annual contribution is also made to Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance and Devizes Opendoors.
2025 theme: TITLES
The sun shined (mostly) as thousands of smiling scarecrow hunters made their way around Urchfont, trail sheets and children's quizzes in hand.
Thank you to everyone who made the festival a success, from our visitors to volunteers; makers to bakers, sponsors and partners.
We hope you enjoyed the festival and we are grateful that you spent time over the bank holiday weekend supporting Urchfont Scarecrow Festival Charity and all the wonderful causes it helps fund.
